review by SCOTT M

Notes:
Cuts briefly during 'Criminal'. This version is filmed from the front-right hand side of the stage, but apparently, another version filmed from a different angle also exists...

Review:
According to the guy I got this from he filmed it by standing on top of a bread tray! Despite how it may sound it actually came out quite well. It's filmed from the front right hand side of the stage, and there's loads of good close ups of the band. As you'd expect with a festival it gets a little shaky in places, and peoples hands get in the way now and then, but nothing too serious. The only blemish is that it cuts slightly during 'Criminal', but even then you only lose about 30 seconds. Judging by where the guy must have been standing there's no way John couldn't have seen the camera, and I'm pretty sure he looks right at it a couple of times.

My copy is first generation, but it has been a few years since the gig, so no doubt it's doing the rounds in various conditions, though I wouldn't imagine it'd be anything too bad. As I've said elsewhere it's a cracking gig but don't expect note perfect versions of the songs. Incidentally, I know another version filmed from a different angle also exists but I haven't seen it yet...

An excellent quality DAT audio tape also exists too. I'd definitely recommend getting either the audio or video. The way things are looking this could be PiL's last UK gig.
